The
Kurs of Atlantis
Caz and Simon embark on their final
and most dangerous quest yet, sailing to the Borders of Imagination
to try and find the lost city of Atlantis. As they prepare to
leave, the Castle of Sangreal is attacked, throwing their plans
into disarray. Peleus, the Master of the Word is back and now
that he is reunited with his lover, Hecate, wastes no time plunging
Morphea into war. The demons of Thanatos erupt from the earth,
plundering, burning and showing no mercy.
Admist this horror, Caz, Simon and her companions,
(Rapture, the Graces, and Amairgen), try to stay focussed on their
quest and are forced to accept the unwilling help of a mysterious
young man and a giant.
Throughout the voyage, Caz and her friends encounter mermaids,
demons, a cursed Sibyl, a cannibal, Odysseus conflicted son, Telemachus,
gods, sirens and even a colossus. They journey to Olympus, the
realms of the dead and even rediscover the remnants of a terrifying
race.
Without the magical necklace as a guide,
Caz’s doubts eat away at her. She fears what will become
of the world she has grown to love as well as her mother, and
her father, Gus, who she left in Doldreada.
Once more, the book segues between Morphea
and Doldreada (Earth). While Caz endures self-doubt, anxiety and
a variety of monsters, Gus is in hospital, recovering from the
dreadful wound that Peleus inflicted on him at the Hallowe’en
bonfire. Simon’s six year old cousin, Jonquil has the necklace
and Caz and Simon are reported missing.
Back in Atlantis, the citizens, including
Caz’s mother, are dying; the war continues, and Caz’s
search for Atlantis looks doomed. But the worst is yet to come.
