The
Kurs of Atlantis Caz and Simon embark on their final
and most dangerous quest yet, sailing to the Borders of Imagination
to try and find the lost city of Atlantis. As they prepare to
leave, the Castle of Sangreal is attacked, throwing their plans
into disarray. Peleus, the Master of the Word is back and now
that he is reunited with his lover, Hecate, wastes no time plunging
Morphea into war. The demons of Thanatos erupt from the earth,
plundering, burning and showing no mercy.
Admist this horror, Caz, Simon and her companions,
(Rapture, the Graces, and Amairgen), try to stay focussed on their
quest and are forced to accept the unwilling help of a mysterious
young man and a giant.
Throughout the voyage, Caz and her friends encounter mermaids,
demons, a cursed Sibyl, a cannibal, Odysseus conflicted son, Telemachus,
gods, sirens and even a colossus. They journey to Olympus, the
realms of the dead and even rediscover the remnants of a terrifying
race.
Without the magical necklace as a guide,
Caz’s doubts eat away at her. She fears what will become
of the world she has grown to love as well as her mother, and
her father, Gus, who she left in Doldreada.
Once more, the book segues between Morphea
and Doldreada (Earth). While Caz endures self-doubt, anxiety and
a variety of monsters, Gus is in hospital, recovering from the
dreadful wound that Peleus inflicted on him at the Hallowe’en
bonfire. Simon’s six year old cousin, Jonquil has the necklace
and Caz and Simon are reported missing.
Back in Atlantis, the citizens, including
Caz’s mother, are dying; the war continues, and Caz’s
search for Atlantis looks doomed. But the worst is yet to come...

The Gaze of Gorgon...
Book II, From the Caz Klein Series
The
Gaze of Gorgon It is the last day of school before
the Christmas Holidays and Caz has incurred the wrath of the nasty
Deputy Principal, Miss Snodgrass, and been given detention. Caz
dared to argue with her about the relative merits of Harpies.
Miss Snodgrass briefly
leaves the schoolroom where Caz is resentfully copying out the
labours of Hercules when Simon, who has been searching for Caz,
finds his friend.
Annoyed with Caz for being so
stupid as to get a detention on the last day, Simon argues with
her and a fight ensues. Miss Snodgrass arrives to break it up,
but not before Caz inadvertently activates her necklace and drags
Simon with her into fantastical world of Morphea.
Caz and Simon meet up with Rapture, the Harpie,
and find out that the dreaded Gorgon, Medusa, has been resurrected
by the three-faced evil Dryad, Hecate. Together they are on a
rampage, turning everything into stone. Simon has an encounter
with the Gorgon and is transformed into a statue. Against great
odds, Caz's mother, Cassandra, appears and tells her daughter
that she has thirty days in which to help Simon or he will remain
stone forever. As Cassandra tries to reveal what Caz must do,
she is consumed by a dark shadow - Hecate.
The shifting geography of Morphea makes the
quest for Simon's remedy incredibly difficult. As does Hecate's
relentless pursuit. Soon it becomes evident that Hecate is after
more than Caz or the necklace - Hecate has something far more
diabolical in mind...
It's Time Cassandra
Klein... Book I, From the Caz Klein Series
It's
Time, Cassandra Klein It's Caz Klein's thirteenth birthday
and, as usual, the family is gathered to watch her blow out the
candles. Her twin Aunts, Magda and Marta, her Oma, Aunt Katarina,
Uncle William and her best friend from next door, Simon Gaterelli
are all there to celebrate. Even her father, Gustave Klein, who
is considered mad by the entire family, is present, under the
ever-watchful eye of his psychiatrist, the sinister Dr Proteus.
Only Caz's mother is absent. Caz has never met her mother - she
disappeared the day she was born and has never been seen or spoken
of since - she is a forbidden topic in the Klein household. All
Caz knows is that she bears her mother's name: Cassandra. The
candles are extinguished and mayhem ensues - until Gustave appears
in the doorway with a gift for Caz - a gift that he says is from
her mother.
Caz opens the present and inside is the ugliest necklace she has
ever seen. There is also a beautifully crafted note that simply
says - It's Time, Cassandra Klein. In disgust, Caz rejects her
mother's gift but she finally succumbs and tries on the unusual
piece of jewellery. When she does, it opens the portal to another
world…
The book follows Caz's adventures in this
other world - the land of Morphea, a place where the myths and
legends of our world are a lived and continuous reality. Caz meets
a Harpie, a Pegasus, the Graces and is injured by the evil witch
Hecate and kidnapped by the Ferryman, Charon who has terrible
plans for her. The Harpie, Rapture and the Graces must save Caz.
In the meantime, Dr Proteus reveals
his true colours and his sinister plot to steal the necklace and
lock Gus Klein away in a mental institution forever. Not only
does Caz have to be rescued but she has to find a way to return
home and save her father. But Caz is in her mother's world now
and her mother is so close, and Caz's longing to find her so very
strong . . . time is running out for Caz - what will she decide?
